Before I came to US in 2002, I had been studying the semiconductor defects by deep level transient spectroscope (DLTS) at the Surface Physics Laboratory (National Key Laboratory) of Fudan University and got my master’s degree there. I joined Prof. Mohanty’s lab from the end of 2003 and since then I am working on the project of nanoscale electronic biosensor. We have fabricated a nanoscale field effect transistor from CMOS compatible methods and systematically studied the relationship between the wire size and device sensitivity. We have demonstrated our nanowire FET device can be used to detect glucose, urea concentration as well as cancer related antigen CA15.3. My research interests are MEMS/NEMS fabrication and characterization; semiconductor surface characterization; and Biosensor mechanism and application.
